--- # DFS to CERNBox Home folders migration #### MALT WG 18/6/2020 <br> ###### apostolos.smyrnakis@cern.ch --- #### Progress since last meeting - **270 secondary accounts targeted**; migrations will happen on 17th & 18th June. - Preparing migration for **1341 Grid users accounts**: migrations in the following weeks. - Preparations for **"DFS to CERNBox Home folders Migration course"** training course. - Meeting with IT support of **ADMIN[1] sector** discussing possible issues on the users. *[1] ADMIN sector: FAP, HR, IPT, IR, PF, RCS* --- #### Current status ![](https://codimd.web.cern.ch/uploads/upload_274577f5bf7368fe95ba4adc66bdfeda.png) More than 25'000 accounts done. However, the idea has been abandoned due to great dependency on user's manual work and on home network's speed. <br> #### Changes impacting users - none --- #### Plans (1/2) - Approximately 1300 grid users migrations (in contact with IT-CM): *ETA mid July*. - Approximately 1300 secondary accounts to be migrated: *ETA mid July*. - Training course: preparing configuration for Training Centre's computers: *ETA end of June*. - Customise/configure migration logon script for easier usage in the ADMIN sector: *ETA mid July*. --- #### Plans (2/2) - Analyse strategy/plan migrations in accordance with users' return on site. - could we establish a contact line with each GROUP management in order to provide us with the list of **return dates / users** in order to plan migrations accordingly? - Analyse strategy/plan handling of collision cases - start handling easy cases (just one colliding folder) by the end of July. - whole process could need 3-5 months, taking into consideration possible delay in reply from the users. ---
